This policy explains how we collect and use personal data, and your rights under UK data protection law.

A-Plus Ideation Agency Ltd (“A+”, “A+Agency”, “we”, “us”, “our”) is the data controller responsible for the personal data described in this policy. We are a creative agency based in London.

2. Who this policy covers

This policy applies to personal data we process about:

  • Visitors to our website and anyone who contacts us through it;

  • Clients and prospective clients, including the individuals we deal with at client organisations;

  • Suppliers, freelancers, contractors and production crew we work with; and

  • Other people whose personal data we handle in the course of delivering our work.

It does not cover personal data we process on behalf of a client as their processor. In those cases the client’s own privacy policy applies, governed by the contract between us.

3. The personal data we collect

When you contact us:

If you email us or get in touch through the website, we collect the information you choose to give us – typically your name, email address, and the content of your message. If you go on to work with us, we’ll also hold contact details and correspondence relating to that relationship.


Automatically, when you visit the website:

Like most websites, our site and its hosting provider automatically record limited technical data – such as your IP address, browser type, and the pages you view – in server logs. We use this to keep the site secure and working properly.

We also use cookies and similar technologies, described in Section 5.


Clients, suppliers and crew:

In running client and supplier relationships we hold business contact details (name, work email, phone number, job title), correspondence, and records needed to deliver and administer our work. For production crew and freelancers this may also include information such as identity and right-to-work or work-permit details where a project requires it.

We do not seek to collect special category data (such as health or biometric data) through the website, and ask that you don’t send it to us unprompted.

4. How and why we use your data

We only use your personal data where the law allows us to. Our purposes and lawful bases are:

Respond to your enquiry – to reply to you and discuss potential work. Lawful basis: legitimate interests (responding to someone who has contacted us).

Deliver and manage our work – to perform our services and administer client, supplier and crew relationships. Lawful basis: contract, and legitimate interests in running the business.

Run and secure the website – to keep the site available, secure and functioning. Lawful basis: legitimate interests in security and service.

Analytics – to understand how the site is used and improve it. Lawful basis: consent (via the cookie banner).

Marketing – to send updates or news where you've opted in. Lawful basis: consent, or legitimate interests for existing B2B contacts.

Meet legal and accounting duties – to keep records and comply with tax and other law. Lawful basis: legal obligation.

Where we rely on legitimate interests, we’ve considered your rights and don’t use your data in ways you wouldn’t reasonably expect. You can object to this processing – see Section 9.

5. Cookies and analytics

Cookies are small files placed on your device. We use strictly necessary cookies to make the site work, and, with your consent, analytics / other non-essential cookies to understand how the site is used.

When you first visit, our cookie banner lets you accept or reject non-essential cookies. You can change your choice at any time using the 'Cookie Preferences' link in the footer of this website. Non-essential cookies are only set once you've consented, in line with the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR).

We use two categories of cookies: strictly necessary cookies to run the site, and analytics cookies (Squarespace Analytics) to understand how the site is used. We don't use advertising or marketing cookies on this website.

6. Who we share your data with

We don’t sell your personal data. We share it only when necessary with:

  • Service providers acting on our behalf, such as our website host, email provider, Squarespace Analytics, and cloud/IT tools. They act as our processors under contract and may only use the data as we instruct.

  • Professional advisers, such as our accountants or lawyers, where needed.

  • Authorities or third parties where we’re required to by law, or to protect our rights.

7. Transfers outside the UK

Some of our providers (for example, Google or Squarespace) may store or process data outside the UK, including in the United States. Where we transfer personal data internationally, we make sure it’s protected by an appropriate safeguard recognised under UK law, such as UK ‘adequacy’ regulations, or the International Data Transfer Agreement (IDTA) or the UK Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses. 8. How long we keep it

We keep personal data only as long as we need it for the purposes above, then delete or anonymise it.

  • Website enquiries that don’t lead to work: up to 24 months.

  • Client, supplier and crew records: for the relationship and then up to 7 years to meet tax and legal requirements.

  • Marketing contacts: until you unsubscribe or ask us to stop.

9. Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to:

  • be informed about how we use your data (this policy);

  • access the personal data we hold about you;

  • have inaccurate data corrected;

  • have your data erased in certain circumstances;

  • restrict our processing in certain circumstances;

  • data portability;

  • object to processing based on legitimate interests, and to direct marketing at any time; and

  • not be subject to solely automated decisions that have a significant effect on you (see Section 11).

10. Complaints

If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your personal data, please contact us first at admin@a-plusagency.com so we can try to put it right. We’ll acknowledge your complaint and respond as quickly as we can.

You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), the UK regulator, at ico.org.uk or on +44 (0)303 123 1113. We’d appreciate the chance to address your concerns before you approach the ICO.

11. Automated decision-making

We do not make decisions about you based solely on automated processing that produce legal or similarly significant effects.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We’ll post the current version here and update the “last updated” date above. If we make significant changes, we’ll take reasonable steps to let affected people know.
